Why wallpaper is a preparation job, not a hanging job
Nearly every wallpaper failure we get called out to fix comes from the same causes: paper hung over old paper, paste residue left on the wall, or an unsized surface that sucked the paste dry before the drop was even positioned. Seams lift, corners peel and bubbles appear within a season. Getting the wall right takes most of the time on the job and it is the reason a properly hung wall still looks tight years later.

How the job runs
1 · Survey and roll count
We measure the walls, check the pattern repeat on your chosen paper and tell you exactly how many rolls to order — including the allowance the repeat eats up.
2 · Strip and prepare
Old paper comes off, paste residue is washed away, cracks and dents are filled and sanded, and the wall is sized so the new paper adheres evenly instead of bubbling.
3 · Hang and match
Plumb line first, then drop by drop with seams butted tight and the pattern matched across every join, corner, door frame and switch plate.
4 · Trim and clean up
Sharp trims at ceiling and skirting, sockets refitted, off-cuts removed and the room left clean and usable the same day.

- How much does it cost to hang wallpaper in Dublin?
- Pricing depends on the number of rolls, the pattern repeat and the condition of the wall. A plain or small-repeat paper is faster than a large-repeat mural, and old paper that needs stripping adds time. We quote per room with a fixed price after seeing the wall or a clear photo.
- Do you strip the old wallpaper first?
- Almost always, yes. Hanging over existing paper is a shortcut that shows within months — seams lift and bubbles appear. We strip back, wash off residual paste, fill and size the wall so the new paper sits flat and lasts.
- Can you hang murals and large-repeat patterns?
- Yes. Panel murals, large florals, tropical and geometric repeats are all regular work for us. Pattern matching across corners, around doors and above a fireplace is the part that separates a neat job from an obvious one.
- Can wallpaper go in a bathroom or kitchen?
- In many cases yes, using vinyl or washable papers and keeping them away from direct splash zones. Ventilation matters — we will tell you honestly if a wall is a bad candidate rather than taking the job and watching it fail.
- Do I buy the wallpaper or do you?
- Either. Most customers choose and buy their own paper; we will tell you exactly how many rolls to order for your walls, including the extra needed for the pattern repeat so you do not end up short mid-job.
