A painter who quotes a low price without looking at the walls is usually planning to skip that work.
Colour changes matter too. Going from a strong colour to a pale one, or covering a red or navy feature wall, can add a whole extra coat across the room. Ceiling height above the standard 2.4m, deep coving, and rooms full of furniture that must be moved and protected all add real hours.
How to read a painting quote properly
A quote worth trusting says what is included: the number of coats, whether ceilings and woodwork are in or out, what filling and caulking is covered, which paint brand and finish will be used, and how long the job will take.
